Amado Castillo, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and proud soldier passed away on November 7, 2025, in Kempner, Texas. He was born from humble beginnings on November 5, 1937, in Staples, Texas. Amado's warm spirit and generous nature touched the lives of many, and his legacy will forever be cherished.
Amado dedicated 30 years of his life to serving in the Army, where he achieved the highest rank of a non-commissioned officer, a Command Sergeant Major. His commitment to service and leadership left an indelible mark on those who had the honor to serve with him, embodying the finest qualities of dedication and integrity.
After retiring from military life, Amado embraced a new chapter, finding joy in working his acreages of Texas land, growing crops and caring for his farm animals. This period of his life showcased his kindheartedness and nurturing personality, as he took pride in the simple pleasures of life and the satisfaction that came with hard work.
He is survived by his loving spouse, Ute Castillo; his sons Ralph Castillo, Michael Castillo, Tim Castillo; and his daughter, Melissa Renaud. Amado's family reflects the love and devotion that he shared with them throughout his life. They will carry forward his memory and the values he instilled, ensuring his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A funeral mass will be held to honor his life on November 25, 2025, starting at 11:00 AM, at Holy Family Catholic Church 1001 Georgetown Rd., Copperas Cove, TX 76522. Following the service, a graveside service is scheduled at 1:00 PM at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery 11463 State Highway 195 Killeen, TX 76542, to pay tribute to his military service and legacy.
