Andrew (Andy) Garcia, III, 53, passed away on November 13, 2025, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas, surrounded by family and loved ones.  He was born on November 23, 1971, in Hamlin, Texas, to Andrew and Ernestine (Seballos) Garcia.

A rosary and visitation will be held at Sneed Carnley Funeral Chapel, 201 E 3rd St., Lampasas, Texas, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, November 21, 2025.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 701 N. Key Ave, Lampasas, Texas, at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 22, 2025.  Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas, Texas.

Andy grew up in Lampasas and graduated from Lampasas High School in 1990.  During his high school years, he enjoyed being a member of the band and playing football and baseball for the Badgers.  He was honored to be chosen as a Texas Boys State delegate.  After high school, he attended the University of Texas at Austin College of Engineering.  He then began work for GUYCO Construction for 4 years.  Andy then moved to the state of Washington with Rex K Johnson Construction for two years.  Andy returned to Texas and began working for the Texas Department of Transportation in Lampasas for 8 years, and later transferred to Austin TXDOT to work as a Carpenter in the Wood Shop for 4 years.  After leaving TXDOT, he was a self-employed carpenter for 15 years.  This year, Andy was proud to join the carpentry department at the University of Texas at Austin.

Andy's proudest accomplishment was his three beloved children, Tyler, Dylan, and Noah.

Andy was what he would call a jack of all trades and a master of none.  From the word go, Andy was an adventurous, brilliant, and hilarious guy.  He spent his life in Lampasas among friends becoming an athlete, a top student and an avid outdoorsman.

Throughout Andy's life, he became a skilled carpenter, a gift that he shared with many while on this earth.  Andy was very humble and would never boast of anything.  He could build, fix, and create anything he was asked, and he knew how to renovate and repair, or improve anything.

Andy shared his love for woodworking and the outdoors with his sons, especially Tyler.  He spent many long days on the Lampasas River fishing with his boys, one of his greatest joys in life.

One of the great loves of his life was music.  Andy was a member of the Lampasas band.  He had a musical ear and was a self-taught guitar player.  He joined the Buzz Hicks Band as a guitarist and vocalist.  He blew us all away with his vocals, a talent he kept to himself until he was in his late 40s.  Performing guitar and vocals with the band was a dream realized for him.

Andy was a believer in God. In the last months of Andy's life, he experienced a miracle.  He knew without a doubt God healed him of lifelong struggles that he wished to overcome.  With the help of some really great friends, he was freed from those burdens.  Andy was truly living his best life.  While those of us left to feel the void his absence leaves in our lives are grieved, we are truly grateful for Andy and all he did for everyone he could while he was alive.  He was a best friend to many, and we are so proud of him and what he accomplished before he left us.  Fly High, Andy, and we will see you soon.

Andy was preceded in death by his son, Tyler Andrew Garcia, and all of his grandparents.

Andy is survived by his sons, Dylan Garcia, Hockley, Texas, Noah Garcia, Lampasas, Texas; parents, Ernestine Garcia, Andrew Garcia, Jr. and Ruth Garcia, Lampasas; siblings, Marisol Garcia, Georgetown, Texas, Cameron Garcia (Kiana), Denton, Texas; nieces, Dorian Daugherty, Gabriella Daugherty, Kloe Garcia, Ivy Garcia and beloved friends and family.
