Ann Guthrie

February 28, 1938 — August 29, 2025

Briggs

Catherine "Ann" Guthrie, 87, passed away on August 29, 2025, in Lampasas, TX.  She was born on February 28, 1938, in Comanche, TX, to Herbon and Doris (Price) Wilson.

Services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel, 201 E. 3rd, Lampasas, TX, 76550, at 1 pm on Saturday, September 13, 2025, with a visitation an hour prior.  Burial will follow at Pendergrass Cemetery in Sidney, TX.

Ann was truly one of a kind.  Respected and loved by everyone fortunate enough to know her.  She was authentic to the core and never once changed who she was for anyone.  Whether she was being silly, mischievous, or the hilarious way she told any nostalgic story, her sense of humor kept all of those around her laughing and smiling.

Over the years, she carried many titles with pride: wife, mother, friend, daughter, sister, aunt, and "Nana" to both her grand and great-grandchildren.  In each of these roles, she was there to guide you with words of wisdom, support you, and love you unconditionally.

She had an impeccable sense of style and was a GIFTED shopper.  Whether a road trip or flying off to visit countries all around the world, Ann was always ready for the adventure and her next opportunity to explore new sights and cultures.  She had a keen eye for interior design and always seemed to have the perfect outfit for every occasion.  Her joy of gardening has been rooted deep in the hearts of her family, though no one will ever have a garden that will be able to compete.  Her jewelry collection could rival that of the finest jewelers, yet her true treasures were the love and memories she created with her family and friends.

Above all, Ann will be remembered for the unwavering love and devotion she shared with her one and only, Bobby, her partner in life and love for 70 remarkable years.  They were married on June 2, 1955, and recently celebrated their anniversary with loved ones.  Ann and Bobby were truly best friends; they spent many evenings filling each other in on their days while looking over the sunset and livestock at their beloved 5G Ranch in Briggs, TX.  The legacy of their love is beyond impressive; it shows you that True Love does exist.

Ann was preceded in death by her eldest son, Dale Guthrie; parents, Herbon and Doris Wilson; her sisters, Jean Crouch, Carolyn Wilson, and Joyce Wilson; and her grandson, Bobby Ray Parnell.

Ann is survived by her husband, Bob; their son, Gregory Guthrie and wife Julia, and daughter, Tammy Parnell and husband Jeff.  She leaves behind her grandchildren, Brooke Morgan (and husband George), Kenneth Guthrie, Taylor Ann Abbott (and husband Josh), Anthony Guthrie (and wife Evelin), Calley Gaskins (and husband Ryan), Carson Guthrie, Grant Guthrie, and Grayson Guthrie, and her 11 great-grandchildren, Chloe, Ryan, Emery, George, Lillian, Tyler, Parker, Ethan, Nathan, Luck and Virginia Ann and her beloved niece, Shana Crouch Hawpe (and husband Tracy).
