Novis Annette McLean, lovingly known as Anne, was born on November 23, 1936, in Lampasas, Texas, to Curtis and Frances Bozarth. She peacefully passed from this life on October 24, 2026.
A lifetime educator, Anne followed in her parents' footsteps, dedicating her life to teaching and making a difference in the lives of others. She graduated from high school in 1955 as a member of the last graduating class to attend the old ivy-covered school. She went on to attend Texas Christian University (TCU), where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority, and later earned a Bachelor of Education degree from North Texas State University.
In 1959, Anne married Don Alexander, and together they moved to the ranch, where they raised cattle while Anne began pursuing her career in education. She devoted 29 years to teaching in Burnet, Texas, touching the lives of countless students throughout her career. Her dedication to education reflected the example set by her parents and her love of helping others learn and grow.
Anne was a founding member of both the Town and Country Club and the Lampasas Mission, reflecting her commitment to her community and the friendships she valued throughout her life.
Following Don's sudden passing in 1996, Anne continued to manage the ranch, demonstrating the strength, determination, and independence that carried her through life. She remained devoted to the land and the life she and Don had built together.
In 2006, Anne moved from the ranch into town. In 2008, she married William McLean, beginning another meaningful chapter of her life. Anne immensely enjoyed keeping in touch with her classmates and maintaining the friendships that had remained important to her throughout the years. Those connections brought her great happiness and reflected the lasting bonds she treasured.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Hal, and her first husband, Don Alexander.
She is survived by her husband, William; daughter, Jill; her son-in-law, Clint; and her beloved grandchildren, Rhett and Sloane, who were cherished parts of her life.
Anne will be remembered as a devoted educator, a strong and determined woman, a loving mother and grandmother, and a dear friend to many. Her life was shaped by family, hard work, lifelong friendships, and a commitment to education that followed in the footsteps of her parents. The lessons she taught, the relationships she nurtured, and the memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Her legacy is one of dedication, perseverance, and love - a life well lived and one that will be fondly remembered.
