Funeral services are 12:p.m., Friday April 24, 2009 at the Sheppard Chapel of Memories. Burial will be at 2:00p.m., Friday April 24, 2009 at the Central Texas Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. Visitation will be from 10:00a.m, to Noon Friday April 24, 2009, at the funeral home before the service. Mr. Cooper passed away April 22, 2009 at Scott & White Hospital in Temple. He was born January 14, 1935 in Springfield, Illinois to the union of Robert and Helen Minder Cooper. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, V.F.W.,and Moose Lodge. He was a carrer Soldier serving in the United States Army for 26 years. His medals and decorations include: National Defense Medal, Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, W/1 Silver Service Star, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, W/1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal Clasp, Bronze 5 loops, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry w/ Palm. Survivors: Wife Susanne Cooper of Copperas Cove, Texas Sons: David Cooper and wife Patricia of Kenner, Louisianna Scott Cooper and wife Jessie of Ingleside, Texas John Cody Cooper of Copperas Cove, Texas Daughter: Marilyn Tobias of Sherman, Illinois Three Grandhcildren: Paul Cooper, Victoria "Sammy" Cooper and Cheyanne Cooper Two Great-Grandchildren: Cody and Nicholas Cooper He was preceded in death by his parents.
