Connie Ray Turner

Connie Ray Turner, 78, passed away on July 28, 2026, surrounded by family at home in Lampasas, Texas.  He was born on December 25, 1947, in San Saba, Texas to Daniel Turner and Mavis Brown.

Connie is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and three brothers. 

Survivors include his loving wife, Mary Gauny Turner; his daughter, Ellie Stafford and husband James; his son, Leslie Turner and wife Abby; his daughter, Carol Berilgen of Houston, Texas; his son, Ruben Ray Turner and Haley Guess of Lampasas, Texas, and his sister, Margie Wagner of Bend, Texas.

He was blessed with 9 grandchildren, Leslie Ray Turner Jr., Ryan Neil Turner, and Jessica Turner of San Saba, Texas, Brandon and Ashley DuBose of Lampasas, Wayne Tibbitts of Austin, Texas, Remington Ray Turner and Bently Schwalm of Lampasas, Texas, Reis and Semra Berilgen of Houston, Texas and 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members.

Connie lived most of his life in San Saba and retired from the Santa Fe Railroad.  He loved fishing, hunting, and spending time with family.  He was a hard worker and loved telling jokes, as well as pulling pranks on his family.  He found joy in the little things of life and was always willing to lend a hand.  Connie lived simply and loved deeply.  Mary was the love of his life and together they spent 58 blessed years together.  He will be greatly missed and will remain in the hearts of many.

Services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 11 am.  Please join our family as we gather to remember and celebrate Connie's life.
