Daniel Milton Risinger, beloved Son, Father and Grandpa passed away at the age of 78 on July 15, 2024 at his home in Lampasas, Texas.
Memorial services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 10 am.
Daniel was a man who wore many honorable hats in his lifetime. In his younger years he attended Early High School and loved playing sports, especially football. He graduated there in May of 1965.
He practiced martial arts, achieving the accomplishment of attaining a black belt, which his kids and grandkids had no idea about. Daniel joined the US Air Force and attained the rank of Airmen First Class. He started his law enforcement career as a Dispatcher and Jailer, then became a Peace Officer serving in the Plano PD, Lewisville PD, Highland Park PD, Lampasas PD, Brown County Sheriff, and Comanche PD.
Daniel also served as a Federal Game Warden with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, where he was Lead Game law enforcement officer for Fort Cavazos, formerly Fort Hood.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Ella Dee Gholson and Earnest and Gladys Risinger and son-in-law, Norman Fryar.
Daniel is survived by his children, Bo and his wife Melissa Perkins of St. Mary's, Georgia, Dana Dee Fryar of Fort Stockton, TX, Tracy and her husband William Kristof of Caldwell, TX; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
