Danny J. Faw, 78, passed away on May 12, 2024, at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas. He was born on January 17, 1946, in Bluefield, West Virginia to Henry and Lillian. Services with military honors will be scheduled at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
Danny was in a military family and grew up moving from place to place. He joined the Army in 1963 and served his country for 20 years. He served two tours in Vietnam and was awarded the Vietnam Service ribbon with one silver and one bronze service star, the Good Conduct Medal bronze with five loops, the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with palm, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Korea. He also served two tours of duty in Korea for over 5 years with extended periods on the DMZ. He retired from the military in July of 1983 at Fort Hood, Texas.
After retirement, he worked at the Killeen Daily Herald as a Maintenance tech for 10 years and then worked for Walmart distribution center in Temple, TX maintaining and repairing their equipment for 18 years. He permanently retired in 2011.
Danny married Pak, Chun Cha in 1973 in Seoul, South Korea. They were happily married for over 50 years. Danny was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary.
Danny is survived by his wife, Chun of Killeen, TX, his brother Richard (Catherine) Faw of Lampasas, TX, and his nephew, Kodie Greenburg of Lampasas, TX.
