Deborah Jean "Debbie" Blakley, 72, passed away on May 6, 2026. She was born to Tommy Eugene Harkey and Allie Vernette Jones Harkey on April 6, 1954 in San Saba, TX.
Services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Monday, May 11, 2026, at 11 am with visitation an hour prior. Burial will follow at Hillsdale Cemetery in Izoro.
Debbie started her career with Guyco where she took care of the payroll. After that she went to work with Lampasas ISD starting out in the cafeteria and working her way up to payroll specialist when she retired. After retirement she enjoyed spending time with her family and watching her grandkids. She was a natural caregiver and spent most of her time out on the ranch helping Jerry while he was bailing hay all over the county. She enjoyed sewing, cross stitching, crocheting and anything involving crafts. She made many blankets and dresses and various other items for co-workers and her family and even learned how to make porcelain dolls. She was also an amazing cook and known for her pea salad, her famous fruit salad and her "no nana" banana pudding. She will be deeply missed by her family.
Debbie was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, her parents Tommy and Vernette and her aunt Lou Nell Harkey.
She is survived by her sons, Randy Thorp and wife Joni, and Evan Blakley and wife Sarah; her sister, Connie Hartmann; her grandchildren, Isaiah Thorp and wife Bethany, Chloe Thorp, Randon Thorp, Maya Blakley, and Everett Blakley and her great-granddaughter, Marianna Thorp.
