Decil Ray Reavis

Decil Ray Reavis, 89, passed away on August 22, 2025, in Lampasas, TX.

Mr. Reavis was born on November 2, 1935, to Cecil and Anna Nadyne Toliver Reavis in the Okay, Texas community that became Camp Hood reservation in 1941.  Decil attended grade school in Oakalla, TX and graduated from Briggs High School in 1953.  Decil met the love of his life, Billie Dean Smith, and they were married at the Pidcoke Baptist Church on December 16, 1961.  They were happily married for almost 63 years when Billie passed away. Decil and Billie made their home in Izoro, Texas, and after retirement from the Postal Service, they spent many years traveling all over the United States, where they visited 49 States and Canada.

Decil was a rancher, gunsmith by hobby, and an avid hunter.  He went to Colorado, hunting for 55 years.  Decil was a member of the Pearl Baptist Church for 51 years, and a Master Mason of the Masonic Lodge #137 in Mohomet, Texas.  

Decil is preceded in death by his wife, Billie, his parents, his sister-in-law, Bobbie Jean Smith Langford, his mother and father-in-law, William H. Smith and Winnie Strickland Smith.

Survivors include his daughters, Angela Rainwater and husband Jeff of Kempner, and Kathy Selph and husband Danny of Izoro; his grandchildren, Tamara Kruppa and husband Michael of Lampasas, Justin Rainwater of Lampasas, Brittany Dame and husband Chaysen of Kentucky, Garrett Selph and wife Autumn of Izoro; great-grandchildren, Kylee and Kade Kruppa and Poppy Joy Dame.

Services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 11 am with visitation an hour prior.  Interment will follow at Pidcoke Cemetery.
