Gwan Delores Bell, 93, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025, at Hillside Medical Lodge in Gatesville, Texas. She was born on April 18, 1932, in Bangs, Texas, to Jack Rambo and Ola Chambers Rambo.
Services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 11 am with visitation an hour prior. Burial will follow at Hillsdale Cemetery in Izoro.
Delores was known for her gentle spirit, artistic talent, and deep love for God, family, friends, and the natural world. A gifted oil painter, her home was adorned with vibrant canvases that reflected the beauty she saw around her. Whether capturing a blooming wildflower or the warmth of a Texas sunset, Delores had a way of bringing light and color into every space she touched.
Her presence, much like the rainbows she softly adored, carried a sense of wonder, warmth, and joy - a reflection of the colors in her heart that she shared so freely with the world.
Though she never sought the spotlight, she touched countless hearts through her kindness, quiet strength, and creative gifts. She was a devoted housewife and found joy in the simple pleasures of life - humming her favorite hymns, tending to her home and garden, and encouraging the artistic expression of those around her. She was also a cherished member of the Primitive Baptist Church in Izoro, Texas.
Delores was married to Grant Bell in 1950 in Lampasas, Texas, prior to his passing in 1996, with whom she shared many cherished years. Together, they raised two sons, Kent Bell and Jackie Bell. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Kent, and is lovingly remembered by his wife, Janice Bell, and their son, Bradley Bell (Tiffany Vanderford). Her son, Jackie Bell, survives her and was a devoted companion in her later years, along with his son, Travis Bell.
Later in life, Delores married Glenn Muckleroy, who also preceded her in death in 2017. Through their harmonious marriage, Delores was blessed with a large and loving extended family. She is dearly remembered by Jim Muckleroy and his wife Pat, Vonda Wilkinson and her husband Larry, and Frances Davis and her husband Nathan.
She is also remembered by many grandchildren, including James Foster and his wife Heather, Glenn Foster and his wife Jaime, Kevin Clifford and his wife Elisabeth Padjen, Robert Foster, Jason Davis and his wife Jane, and Matthew Davis, along with great-grandchildren, Savannah Foster, Hudson Foster, and Ascher Davis.
Delores, also lovingly known to many as "Mammie" or "Aunt Dodo," is also survived by many extended family members and loved ones. Each remembers her with affection and appreciation for the kindness, generosity, and love she brought into their lives. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Delores' name to a charity of your choice.
