Donnie Lee McGee

Donnie Lee McGee, 79, passed away Friday, August 7, 2020 in Temple. Memorial Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Sneed Funeral Home Chapel, with military honors. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lampasas Animal Shelter in Donnie's name. Don was born June 27, 1941 in Max Meadow, Virginia. He was the third child of nine born to Talmer and Francis McGee. He spent 12 years in the Army with three tours to Vietnam and one to Korea. He was very proud to be a Veteran. After the Army, he was a heavy equipment operator and loved to tinker in his shop. He was a known coffee drinker at the local coffee shop and enjoyed sitting on the bench in front of Walmart visiting with people and he loved country music. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Talmer and Frances McGee; son, Joseph Donnie McGee; brother, Hal McGee and sister, Barbara Grubb. Survivors: Loving Wife, Janice; daughter, LuAnn Uhler and husband, Benny; sons, James McGee (Scooter), Jay Ferguson and wife, Brenda; grandchildren, Amy Minton and husband, Steven, Jodi Sawyer and husband, Scott, Maci and Marlee McGee, Dennis Uhler, Jaci Ferguson, 3 step-grandsons; great-grandchildren, Michael and Braydon Minton, Vance and Weston Sawyer, Paisley Wiles, Tymbir and Axton Uhler; sisters, Wilma (David), Alma and Jane; brothers, June (Shirley), John and Kenneth (Maggie) and numerous nieces and nephews.
