Doris Marie House

Doris Marie House, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025, in Temple, Texas, at the age of 84.

Born on July 10, 1940, in Jackson, Michigan, Doris lived a full and beautiful life defined by love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith. She was the heart of her family — a source of warmth, creativity, and joy, especially during the holidays when her presence lit up every room.

Doris is survived by her loving husband, Stanley House; her children Gina Corser, Nancy House-Daniels, Mark House, Mark Hodges, Stanley House, and Stephan House; her many cherished grandchildren; and her sister, Dianne Planeta. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward William Macklin and Beatrice Marie Macklin, and her brother, Robert Macklin.

Affectionately known as "Mama House" by many of her children's friends, Doris had a unique gift for making others feel welcome and loved. Her infectious smile, nurturing spirit, and ability to connect with others left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She found joy in simple pleasures — planting her rose bushes, feeding hummingbirds, and, most of all, spending time surrounded by her family.

Doris held her Catholic faith close to her heart, guiding those around her with strength, compassion, and grace. She instilled values and morals in her grandchildren, serving as their saving grace and moral compass. Her legacy lives on in the love she gave and the lives she touched.

A memorial service celebrating Doris’s life will be held on May 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Sneed Carnley Funeral Chapel and Cremations in Copperas Cove, Texas.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
