Doris Aileen Ricker

Doris Aileen Ricker, 99, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, with a smile on her face, on June 30, 2026, at her home in Lampasas, Texas. She was born on April 21, 1927, in Ralls, Texas, to Butice Amanuel and Lee Ola Francis.

Services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 11 am with visitation an hour prior.  Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. 

Doris grew up in many different states across the country. She traveled with her family, picking cotton, fruits, and vegetables from Texas to Oregon. There wasn't a day of her young life that wasn't filled with hard work and the love of family.

Doris married Ray Ricker on June 5, 1947, in Lubbock, Texas. Ray and Doris met at a skating rink after Ray had crash-landed his airplane in a field. Ray knew at first sight that he would marry Doris. They were happily married for 70 years. Doris was a Baptist. She traveled with Ray throughout Texas, Kansas, and New Mexico, visiting friends and churches while spreading the love of Jesus. Doris loved to crochet and spend time with all her family and friends.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Butice Amanuel Francis and Lee Ola Francis; her husband, Ray Ricker; her sisters, Marga Galloway and Ruby Lee Montgomery; her brothers, Tommie B. Francis and Butice Amanuel Francis Jr.; and her son-in-law, Robert Stevens Jr.

Doris is survived by her daughters, Lee Lanell Stevens of Lampasas, Texas, and Deborah Neagle (Larry) of Burleson, Texas; her nieces, Michelle Beggs of Huntsville, Texas, and Dara Blum of Lubbock, Texas; her grandchildren, Billy Ray Wilcox (Denise) of Seguin, Texas, Dana Brotherwood (Tony) of Lampasas, Texas, Amanda Bratten (Greg) of Fairbanks, Alaska, Jason Stevens (Kayla) of New Bern, North Carolina, Paige Neagle of Fort Worth, Texas, Tara White (Mark) of Okinawa, Japan, and Joshua Neagle (Amanda) of Batesville, Mississippi. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Bethany, Maggie, and Ella Wilcox, Cole and Lily Brotherwood, Kristina Allamian (Garrett) and Brandon Keasler, Chelsea (Gregg) Garcia and Derrick Bratten, Ayden, Tyler, Brodie, Kameron, and Haley Stevens, Caleb and Dara Neagle, and Nathaniel, Trinity, Elias, and Augustine White; her great-grandchildren, Danny and Carson, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
