Dorothy B. Duncan

Dorothy Bohmfalk Duncan passed away peacefully with loving family at her side on February 1, 2020. She was born to Fred and Nettie Bohmfalk in 1927 on a farm in Hondo, TX. She graduated from Hondo High School and attended Draughn’s Business College in San Antonio, TX. She married Jim Duncan in 1947. They had one child, Dorothy Ann. Jim’s career as an instructor pilot provided the opportunity to move frequently. Dorothy was a career woman as well as a superb homemaker. She worked in civil service positions until they moved to Killeen, TX. There she worked at and retired from First National Bank as a secretary and finally as Vice President. She was respected and appreciated by all at every location they lived. She moved to Lampasas in 2000 and learned to love playing 84 with her many Christian friends. She volunteered and supported many community organizations. She was active in First United Methodist Church in Lampasas in Sunday School, choir, United Methodist Women and as an office receptionist. She was a member of the Lampasas 36 Club as well as the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. She loved all her family dearly and held them in prayer always. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim, brother Clyde Bohmfalk, sister-in-law, Nelma Bohmfalk and grandson, Matthew Hollister. She is survived by her brother Wilbur Bohmfalk, daughter, Dorothy Ann Hollister (Harold), grandsons, Harold Hollister III (Patricia), Jim Hollister (Monique), great-grandchildren, Rebekkah Hernandez (Guillermo), Rachel Hollister, Sarah Little (Austin), McKenzie Hollister, James Hollister, Dylan Hollister and Natalie Hollister. Great great-granddaughters, Evelyn Joy Hernandez, Nova Little and several nieces and nephews and a dear friend of 20 years Merritt Romans. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday February 6, 2020 at First United Methodist Church in Lampasas. Burial will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday February 8, 2020 in Hondo, TX.   Donations may be made to First United Methodist Church in Lampasas or to the charity of your choice.
