Dorothy Louise Odom

Dorothy Louise Odom of Lampasas passed away December 9, 2023, at Advent Health Central Texas Hospital in Killeen.  She was 94 years old.

Dottie, as she was known by friends and family, was born on April 8, 1929, to Eldie May (Brown) and Warren A. Gore in Hale Center, Texas.  She was the eighth and youngest child.  She attended Cotton Center schools, where she had two loves: family and basketball.  On July 16, 1950, she married Tommy L. Odom from Hale Center, Texas.  They had four children.  Most of their marriage was spent raising their family on the Panhandle and in Midland, until they moved to the Lampasas area in 1993.  Dottie spent her days serving her family.  Her children and grandchildren brought her the greatest pleasure in life.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lampasas.

Dottie was preceded in death by her husband, six siblings, and two children, Scott Odom and Kim Kuehl.

She is survived by her sister, Juanita Loyd of Lubbock; her daughter, Sherry Manuel of Arizona; her son, Rick and wife Kim of Lampasas; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel on Saturday, December 16, 2023, from 10 to 11 am with a service immediately following.  Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.
