Oct 24, 1934 — Oct 31, 2026

Lampasas

Dorothy Mae Roark Richardson, 92, of Lampasas, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2206 surrounded by the love of her family.  Dorothy was born on October 24, 1934, in Vega, Texas, to Reba and Cecil Roark.

She graduated in 1953 from Lytle High School in Lytle, Texas.  She married the first and only love of her life, C.G. "Corky" Richardson, on January 29, 1953.  They shared 67 wonderful years of marriage, building a foundation of love that will carry through their family for many years to come.

Dorothy lived a long, full life rooted in faith, family, and kindness.  She had an open-door policy to come on in and stay a while.  Her pride and joy were undoubtedly her family, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, each of whom she loved beyond measure.  Known affectionately by all as "the best Meemaw of all".

She worked behind the scenes with Corky to make Richardson Tile & Plaster a successful business for many years.  She was a faithful member of the Lampasas Methodist Church and also served on the board of Rollins Brook Community Hospital and the Lampasas Heart Association.  She was a proud member of the Thursday Luncheon Club for over thirty years and cherished those friendships dearly.

Dorothy will be remembered for her very own sense of humor, unwavering strength, and the love of her family.  Her laughter and wisdom were gifts to everyone who knew her.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Corky, and her two brothers, Cecil Roark and Raymond Roark.  She is survived by her three children, Gregory Roark Richardson, Michael Wayne Richardson (Kay), and Molly Gee Maples (Clifford).  Dorothy also leaves behind six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held at Lampasas Methodist Church on Friday, November 6, 2026, at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Lampasas Methodist Church or the Lampasas Library Foundation.
