Lampasas

Elisabeth "Liz" Kent-McQue, 67, of Lampasas, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on March 23, 2026.

Liz was born on March 24, 1958, in Germany, to Wilhelm and Margarete Seiz.  She spent her early years in Germany, where she developed a lifelong love for horses that remained at the center of her life.

After moving to the United States, Liz continued her deep love and care for animals of all kinds.  She dedicated more than 20 years to serving the community as a veterinary technician at Cove Animal Clinic, where she was known for her compassion, hard work, and devotion to the animals and families she served.  Most recently, she fulfilled another dream by operating her own horse boarding facility, where she continued to share her knowledge, kindness, and love of horses with others.

Liz was actively involved in the horse community throughout her life and was a proud member of many riding and barrel racing associations over the years, including the Killeen Riding & Roping Club, Cove Saddle Club, Cen-Tex Saddle Club, Lampasas Riding Club, Central Texas Barrel Association, and the National Barrel Horse Association.  Horses were not just a hobby for Liz - they were part of who she was.

On March 21, 1995, Liz married the love of her life, Garry McQue, in Lampasas, Texas.  Together they built a life filled with love, family, and shared memories, and they were blessed with 31 years of marriage.

Liz was preceded in death by her father, Wilhelm Seiz.

She is survived by her loving husband, Garry McQue of Lampasas, Texas; her mother, Margarete Seiz of Germany; her daughter, Ann Wyatt and husband Henry Wyatt of Lampasas, Texas; her son, Allen Kent and wife Michele Kent of Kempner, Texas; and her beloved grandchildren, Kylie, Cooper, Haydn, Jacen, and Beau.

Liz will be remembered for her love of animals, especially horses, her dedication to her family, and the many lives she touched through her kindness, hard work, and generous heart.  She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion that will not be forgotten.

Services will be private.
