Gary Raymond Fritz

Gary Raymond Fritz, age 68, passed away on January 13, 2026, at his home in Lampasas, TX.  Gary was born on September 4, 1957, at the US Army Hospital Neubrücke in Germany to Robert Allen Fritz and Gisela Dorothea Eichmann Fritz.

A memorial service will be held at Bertram First Baptist Church, located at 325 S. Gabriel St, Bertram, TX 78605, on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Burial of Gary's ashes will be held at Bear Creek Cemetery at 201 CR 270, Bertram, TX 78605, following the service.

Gary grew up in the Lampasas, TX area and went to Lampasas High School.  He started carpentry work and construction at the age of 15, and led a lifelong career in construction for over 50 years all over the state of Texas.  He was a superintendent in construction for nearly the last 30 years, and was a part of many projects, including several schools in the Central Texas area and was a part of the memorial built at Texas A&M.  Gary received many accolades over the years from his companies due to his hard work ethic.

Gary married his wife, Dianne, on August 19, 1977, in Kempner, TX.  They were happily married for over 48 years.  Gary enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing, and enjoyed a good western novel.  He loved guns and days out in the pasture at their ranch, shooting targets.  He loved spoiling his girls and dogs and spending time with his family.

Gary was a character.  He was known for his quick wit, playfulness, mischievous ways, and starting the shenanigans.  Gary was also known for his kind heart.  He had a personality that could light up a room, and he never knew a stranger.  Gary knew how to make people laugh, and it made him happy to make other people happy.  He was a good man, a good husband, a good father, and grandfather. 

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Gisela Fritz, and his son, Thomas Allen Fritz.

Survivors include his wife, Dianne Fritz; his son, Travis Fritz; his daughter, Delana Leamons and son-in-law, Jason Leamons; his grandchildren, Eva and Brent Lira, and his brother, Roland Fritz.
