Gerald Glyn Brister

Gerald Glyn Brister, 79 of Lake Buchanan, Burnet, TX died Thursday June 11, 2020 at Kingsland Hills Care Center. He was born October 15, 1940 in Lampasas to parents Norman “Shug” Brister and LaVerne (Bagley) Brister. He attended SWTS, where he earned his Bachelor degree and later graduated from Texas A&M University with his Master’s of Education degree. Gerald was a teacher, coach and administrator for many years. His career took him to places like Stanton, Rochelle, Christoval, Lometa, Santa Anna, and Llano. After retirement, he and Jean Ann moved to Lake Buchanan area. Gerald was an active man who loved sports and being outside. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, and younger brother, Norman “Smokey” Brister He is survived by his wife, Jean Ann Brister of Burnet, TX. Daughter, Debra Rathke (Bennie) of Burnet, TX Daughter, Deidra Brister of Burnet, TX Sister, Barbara Allen (Bernie) of Lake Jackson, TX 3 granddaughters; Randi Gustafson (Carl), Jaci Rathke and Kami Rathke (Enrique Suarez) 3 great-grandchildren; Autumn Gustafson, Cason Duecker, Tripp Rathke, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Private Family Viewing Sunday June 14, 2020 at 10 AM Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas.. Graveside funeral service will be Sunday June 14, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.
