Glenn Edward Linville

January 3, 1950 — April 6, 2024

Lampasas

Glenn Edward Linville, 74, of Lampasas, passed away on April 6, 2024.

Services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel Lampasas on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at 2 pm with a visitation an hour prior.

Glenn was born on January 3, 1950, in Gatesville, TX, the second of five children of Edna Lucille (Linville) Chambers.  Glenn and his siblings grew up in Lampasas with his mother and his stepfather, L.D. Chambers.  After graduating from high school, Glenn and two classmates enlisted in the Army.  He served one tour of duty in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star medal.  He returned to Lampasas after being honorably discharged and was then active in the National Guard Reserve for several years.  Glenn was active in commercial and residential remodeling, doing drywall installation as well as interior and exterior painting.

He and Elke, the love of his life, enjoyed traveling together, whether by car, plane, cruise ship, or train.  The two of them also enjoyed planting a garden, raising a few chickens, and spoiling their dog.  They loved attending gatherings with friends and family and enjoyed hosting gatherings at their home as well. Anyone who knew Glenn will easily recall how he entertained with stories that would make them laugh.  He made friends wherever he went, and likely knew just about everyone in town and beyond.  Glenn and Elke always enjoyed attending and supporting the many sports events, proms, graduations, and special events of their blended family.

Glenn is survived by the love of his life, Elke White; his brother, Jerry Wayne Linville and wife Debby; his sister, Pam Carpenter and husband Mike; his son, Kevin Lee Linville, and wife Becky; his daughters, Amanda Jo Linville,  Peggy Myers and husband Jeff, Angela Woolard and husband Bradley; step-daughter, Heather Wiggins and husband David; his grandchildren, Sarah White, Makayla Eckert, Marley Johnson, Kaity Myers, Colton Woolard, Laine Wiggins, Kasey Woolard, Joshua Ritter, Hailey Linville, Colton Linville, Madi Linville, Janie Resa and Jacie Resa; six great-grandchildren, five nieces and many great-nieces and great-nephews.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Edna Lucille Chambers; sister, Patsy Ann Henderson and brother, David Allen Linville and son, Lesley O.F. White.
