Lampasas

Henry Bryant Stoneham, Jr., 87, passed away on October 30, 2025, at Lampasas Assisted Living in Lampasas, Texas.  He was born on February 13, 1938, at his childhood home in Bell County, Texas, to Henry Bryant Stoneham, Sr., and Ruby Thornton Stoneham.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Lampasas Community Church on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at 2 pm with a visitation an hour prior.

Henry grew up in Killeen, Texas.  He graduated from Killeen High School in 1956.  After high school, he graduated from Southwest Texas State Teachers' College in San Marcos, Texas, where he received his degree.  Immediately after graduation, he began working for the USDA/Soil Conservation Service, working his way from Field Technician to District Conservationist.  During this time, he spent two years as an Auditor for the Office of Inspector General, headquartered in Denver, Colorado.

Henry and Patsy were married in Lampasas, Texas, in 1983.  They were married for 42 years.  Henry loved his new family and step-children, grandchildren, and great-grands as his very own.  Henry was a member of Lampasas Community Church and a devout Christian.

After 27 years of government service, Henry retired and then devoted his time to ranching.  He spent countless hours on the road hauling hay and cattle across the state of Texas and beyond.  He spent years working at the Lampasas Cattle Auction Company as well as day-working for cattle ranchers and managing large ranches in Lampasas and surrounding counties.  He enjoyed working with his horse, Bit, his various cattle dogs, and training cantankerous show steers till they were dog gentle!  He also enjoyed spending time outdoors and visiting with family and friends.  He was well known for his ability of backing a cattle trailer through a pinhole!  He served as a board member of Lampasas County Farm Bureau for many years and Lampasas County Water Control and Improvement District No. 1.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Alma Dawn Stoneham, and his step-son, Tom Moseley.

Henry is survived by his wife, Patsy Stoneham; his sons, Trey (Karen) Stoneham and Tommy (Judy) Stoneham; his step-daughters, Molley (Gibran) Michel and Amy (Danny) Vann; his grandchildren, Tate (McKenna) Stoneham, Blaire Stoneham, Darby Jo Stoneham, Hayden Moseley, Will Lepard, Bella Michel, John Cole (Joelle) Vann, Jenna (Luke) Argo, and Charlie Moseley-McGuffey; his great-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Cylee and Clara McGuffey, Mila, Lucy, Ellis and Nora Argo, and Valley and Haven Vann.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Lampasas Community Church, Lampasas Youth Livestock Association, the Lampasas Public Library, or a charity of your choice.
