Jack Darrell Linder passed away peacefully in his home on May 11, 2025, surrounded by his family at 81 years of age.
Jack was born on August 14, 1943, in Kenedy, Texas. A proud Kenedy Lion and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Jack was married to the love of his life, Linda, for 61 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with tremendous love. He was the proud father of four children: Lesley Allen, Mike Linder, Jo Williams, and Bryan Linder. His legacy lives on through them and through all the lives he touched with his kindness, wisdom, strength, and love.
Jack was a hardworking, honest man with unmatched integrity who loved his Savior Jesus Christ. He had an amazing compassion for others and always helped those in need. Through the years, Jack faithfully fellowshipped his church community, serving, teaching, counseling, and leading others to follow the Savior. Jack graduated from Brigham Young University and went on to obtain his Master Degree at Colorado State University. He was a talented motivator and a born salesman with a tireless work ethic. These skills made it possible for Jack to help create, build, and lead one of the most successful financial agencies in the industry. Jack had a love of the land and a passion for cattle. One of his favorite sayings was "A new calf and a good rain are always welcome on his ranch." Jack and Linda moved to Lampasas in 1997 after purchasing Four Jacks Ranch, where they lived for 20 years. As Jack retired, he was drawn to a venue formerly known as Little Bear Arena, now known as Bar 17 Ranch & Arena. Jack and Linda were fortunate enough to purchase, rebuild, renovate, and repair it. Bar 17 is where he created a beautiful home with his wife, a place to enjoy with his kids, grandkids, and great-grandbabies. A place to give back, entertain, live, and serve others, his true passion. Jack loved his family fiercely and did all he could to create a legacy he would be proud to leave behind. As a couple, there has never been a greater example of We Are One, Jack truly, madly, deeply loved Linda, and she in turn adored, loved and cared for Jack.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; his brother, James Linder; his four children, Lesley, Mike, Jo and Bryan; their spouses, David Allen, Teresa Linder, John Williams and Bronwyn Linder; 18 grandchildren, Lainey Clark, Jack Clark, Luke Allen, Reese Allen, Max Linder, Sam Linder (Elyse), Zack Linder, Brock Linder, Emily (Eric) Diaz, Nick Bever, Clayton Bever, Ty Williams, Andrew Williams, Jake Linder, Ally Linder, Kate Linder, Arkie Curl, Zoe Curl; his great-grand-babies, Delilah Diaz and Sophia Linder.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Royce and Maxine Linder; his brothers, Bill and Bob Linder; his in-laws, Lester and Ann Reese and his granddaughter, Mandy Bever.
Jack will forever be deeply cherished and his love will be strongly felt always, in ALL WAYS.
