James Richard Clark, a devoted husband, father, and distinguished Air Force veteran, passed away on May 4, 2026, in Copperas Cove, Texas. Born on May 22, 1936, in Catlettsburg, Kentucky, Mr. Clark led a life marked by service, adventure, and unwavering commitment to his family and community.
Mr. Clark honorably served in the United States Air Force for 22 years, dedicating himself to his country. During his military career, he embraced a life enriched by travel, exploring destinations across the globe.
James was a very selfless friend and an amazing father. His love and dedication to his family were evident to all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, of 49 years, Sybil Nan (Buckley) Clark; his daughters, Denise Clark Yost and Melva Kelly Cude; and son-in-law, Richard Alan Yost. His brothers Cecil Morton Clark Jr, and wife Vertrice and Rudy Clark and his wife Susan of Peninsula, Ohio. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
Mr. Clark also enjoyed golf, maintaining an impressive handicap of 2, which reflected both his skill and passion for the game. This pastime allowed him to forge lasting friendships.
A memorial service celebrating James Clark’s life will be held on May 26, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery located at 11463 TX-195 in Killeen, Texas, 76542.
James Clark's legacy is one of dedication—both to his country and to his loved ones. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his memory will endure through those he touched throughout his remarkable life.
