James (Jim) Howard Glowinski, 83, of Copperas Cove, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026. He was born on May 6, 1941, in St. Francis, Wisconsin, to Bernard and Dorothy Wozny Glowinski.
Jim proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he built a career as a truck driver, traveling coast to coast and experiencing much of the country along the way. After retiring, he settled in Copperas Cove, Texas, where he became a dedicated member of his community and church. He faithfully served as an instrumental volunteer with My Brother’s House Food Pantry and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and the Noon Exchange Club of Copperas Cove.
Jim found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. He spent countless hours tinkering with HAM radios, collecting retro technology, and cooking for his family and church community. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, unwavering faith, and his deep commitment to serving others.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, David and Bernard; and his daughter, Elizabeth Ann Glowinski.
Jim is survived by two sisters, Judy and Shirley Glowinski; and brother, Robert. He is also survived by his and Elizabeth Glowinski’s children; Nicholas, Bernard, Dorothy Glowinski (Lyons), and Paul; his grandchildren, Dorothy, Justin, Josh, Onja, Jasmin, Zachary, and Tyler; and great-grandchildren, Ja’Nay, Isabella, Owen, Evelyn, Bennie, Micah, and Gavyn.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church. Internment will follow at 1:00 PM at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas with military honors.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their support and prayers during this time.
