James Michael Walker "Catfish", 69, passed away on June 27, 2026, at his home in Bastrop, Texas. He was born on January 31, 1957, in Lampasas, Texas, to Eddie Lee and Jewel Clementine (Carter) Walker.
Graveside services will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, 1010 W. Avenue E, Lampasas, TX on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 10 am. Visitation will take place prior to the service at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas from 8:30 to 9:30 am.
James grew up in Lampasas, Texas. He graduated from Lampasas High School in 1975. After high school, he attended college at Commonwealth Funeral Institute in Houston, Texas, where he received a degree in Applied Science and Funeral Directing. He also joined the National Guard in 1975.
James was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Lee Walker.
James is survived by his mother, Jewel Clementine Walker; his spouse, Janice Marie Walker of Bastrop, Texas; his sons, Warren and Christopher Walker of Austin, Texas; his daughter, Bobbie Jewel Walker of Austin, Texas; his brothers, Lyndon Walker of Austin, Texas, and Terry Walker of Houston, Texas; his sister, Teresa Stewart and husband Charles of Dale, Texas; his grandchildren, Kamrie, Quincy, Chrisera, Veriona, and Kasia; his great-grandchildren, Nadia, and Adonis and his nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to The American Cancer Society.
