Janice E. Papson, a beloved wife, mother, and member of the community, passed away on December 30, 2023, in Temple, Texas. She was born on May 17, 1943, in Vienna, Virginia. Janice had a fulfilling career as a Nurse Technician and was recognized for her exceptional work with a letter of recognition from the hospital commander. In addition to her nursing career, she also served as a school bus driver for many years.
Janice was known for her vibrant personality and kindhearted nature. First and foremost, by her testimony, she was a born again believer of Jesus Christ and a pastors wife for more than 30 years. She had a strong and stubborn spirit that guided her throughout life. Her family and friends remember her as someone who always put others before herself and went out of her way to ensure their happiness.
One aspect of Janice's life that brought her immense joy was fishing. Christmas held a special place in her heart, and she eagerly awaited the holiday season each year. Janice cherished spending time with her family, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love.
In addition to fishing and celebrating Christmas, Janice was admired for her strength and desire to overcome many health obstacles. Janice was known for making the best banana pudding. Her dessert became a staple at family gatherings, eagerly anticipated by all.
Janice's proudest accomplishment was finding true love and marrying the love of her life, Andrew J Papson III. Their marriage was filled with unwavering devotion and provided a foundation of love for their children and future generations.
Janice will forever remain in the hearts of her surviving family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her father John Clarence Stevens, mother Florence Thompson Bray Stevens, brother Clarence Jr (Corky), sister Thelma Henry, sister Peggy Henry, brother Alvin Stevens, sister Brenda Comer along with husband Raymond , grandson Christopher Hendrix, and great-grandson Wrangler Hendrix. She is survived by her brother Leroy Stevens and his wife Norma Jean, husband Andrew J Papson III, son Billy Hendrix and wife Donna, daughter Sue O'Quinn and husband Roy, son Kevin Papson and wife Mary, daughter Teresa Best and husband Norman, daughter Brenda Krause and husband Ronnie, grandson Aaron Papson and wife Lindsey. Janice was also blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
To honor Janice's life, visitation will be held on January 10, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Eastside Baptist Church located at 1202 Martin Luther King Jr Dr in Copperas Cove, Texas. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at the same location. Janice will be laid to rest during a burial ceremony at 3:00 PM on January 10th at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery 11463 Tx 195, Killeen, Texas 76542
Janice E. Papson's legacy will forever remain in the lives she touched. Her strong spirit and loving nature will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and unwavering love for family and friends. May her soul find eternal peace as we cherish the memories of her vibrant life filled with joyous moments shared together.
