Jerry L. Blakley, 76, of Izoro died Monday, June 3, 2024, at Advent Central Texas Hospital in Killeen.
Jerry was born June 19, 1947, at the old homeplace in Izoro, Texas to parents Irvin L. Blakley and Florene (Rogers) Blakley. After high school graduation Jerry went to work. In 1979, he started working for Guyler Company and stayed with them until the company became known as Guyco. He retired in 2013 as superintendent. Jerry always enjoyed farming and ranching and after retirment he began doing that full time with his sons. He loved attending auctions and would most times come home with something. He married Debbie Harkey on September 12, 1985. Jerry was raised in the Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his siblings, Roger Blakley and Mary Brewer.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Blakley; brother, Sandy Blakley and wife Jo; sons, Evan Blakley and wife Sarah, Randy Thorp and wife Joni; grandchildren, Isiah Thorp and wife Bethany, Chloe Thorp, Randon Thorp, Maya Kriegel, Everett Blakley and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas. Burial will follow at Hillsdale Cemetery near Izoro. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service.
