Jerry Hubert Skiles, 73, passed away on October 2, 2022, at his home in Lampasas, Texas. He was born on August 8, 1949, in Cleburne, TX to Robert Glenn Skiles and Annie Lee Paris.
A funeral service will be held at New Covenant Church, 1604 Central Texas Expressway, on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at 10 am.
Jerry grew up in Lampasas and graduated from Lampasas High School in 1967. After high school, he joined the National Guard in 1967 and served for 6 years. He began work for the Austin Fire Department as a fireman where he retired after 21 years. Jerry served as a Lampasas County Commissioner and was involved with his church, New Covenant; as a Watchman, serving on committees, and Bible studies, and giving a loving and helping hand as needed. After he retired from the Austin Fire Department he enjoyed life working on the ranch and really loved his tractor and his cars. Most of all, he loved sharing these experiences and his life with his wife and grandchildren. Jerry married Judy in 1968 in Lampasas and they were happily married for 53 years.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Glenn Skiles and Annie Lee Paris.
Survivors include his spouse, Judy of Lampasas; his sons, Jerry Don of Round Rock and Andy (Marisa) Skiles, of Lampasas; brothers, Glenn (Duanna) of Liberty Hill, Johnnie of Arizona, Ronnie (Diana) Skiles of Arizona; his grandchildren, Eyan, Lyla, Lydia, and Lyllian Skiles.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations are made to New Covenant Church Generations.
