Interment services for retired Sgt. 1st Class Jimmy L. Davidson, 75, of Killeen will be at 2P.M. Friday at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, with full military honors and Masonic honors, and the Patriot Riders will be escorts. Davidson died December 22, 2008, at his residence. He was born August 18, 1933, in Elgin, Tennn., to Opal and Captola Martin Davidson. He married Mary Magdelene Crabtree on Oct. 1, 1955, in Scott County, Tenn. Davidson reitred from military service April 30, 1072, at Fort Hood, after 21 years and eight days in the U.S. Army. He entered into the Army on Feb. 8, 1951, and went to basic training at Fort Leonardwood, Mo. During his Army career, he spent a year and four months in Korea, 9 1/2 years in Europe and 10 months in Vietnam. He was awarded the following military awards; Combat Infantryman badge, Bronze Star Medal; three awards with V device; Army Commendation Medal; Air Medal; Purple Heart, two awards; Korean Campaign Medal; United Nations medal, Good Conduct Medal, five awards; Vietnamese Service Ribbon, Vietnam Campaign Ribbon; and National Defense Ribbon. Davidson was also a retired independent trucker. His organization memberships included Masonic Lodge 670 in Robbins, Tenn. Scottish Rite Knights Templar and Eastern Star of Lometa. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife on Jan, 19, 2000; three sisters: Naomi Ruth Byrd, Margaret Bertram and Judy Davidson, and one brother Billy Davidson. Loving family: Daughter: Pamela Dale Lee of Killeen Son: Jimmy Lee Davidson Jr. and his wife Charlotte, of Ransom Canyon Sisters: Mary Ann Seabolt of Glenmary, Tenn. Sue Allen of Nashville, Tenn. Bothers: Opal Lee Davidson of Clarksville, Tenn Glen Davidson of Nashville, Tenn David Paul of Elgin, Tenn. Grandchildren: Natalie Davidson Kemp and her husband Micah. Christina Maynor and her husband Chris Jordan Davidson, Amanda Dresszen and Hannah Lee. One Great-Grandchild: Sydney Maynor. Numerous Nieces and Nephews. Visitation will be from 6 to 8p.m., Thursday at teh Sheppard Funeral Home in Copperas Cove.
