Joel David Dickison, 56, passed away on December 24, 2020, at his home in Lometa, Texas.
Joel was born on November 4, 1964, in San Saba, Texas to Jack and Gladys Felts Dickison. He grew up in Lampasas, Texas, and graduated from Lometa High School in 1983. After high school, he attended Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. After graduating from Tarleton University, he taught 7th grade Life Science at Lampasas Middle School for the next four years. In 1988 he attended Farrier School and shod horses for several years. Joel also owned and operated several successful businesses throughout his life.
Joel was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Gladys Felts Dickison, and brother-in-law, Jay Laminack.
Survivors include his father, Jack Dickison of Lampasas; children, Jack Dickison of Burnet, Olivia Dickison Floyd and husband, Grayson of Burnet, Martina Dickison of Burnet; granddaughter, Sunnie Dickison of Burnet; brother, James Dickison, and wife, Elizabeth of Lometa; sister, Shele Laminack of Marble Falls; nieces and nephews, Will Dickison and wife, Brooke of Sterling City, Sara Byrd and husband, Jason of La Vernia, Joel Laminack of Leander, Kirk Laminack and wife, Kristen of Dalhart and several great-nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A private family memorial service will be held.
Joel was truly one of a kind, lived every day on his terms, and will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
