John Miller

Graveside service for Retired CSM John R. Miller are scheduled for 2:00p.m., Monday December 28, 2009 at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, with Chaplain Carl Thompson officiaitng. No visitation will be held. Services are under the direction of Sheppard Funeral Home in Copperas Cove. Mr. Miller passed away Thursday morning in Copperas Cove. He was born August 11, 1922 in Conroe, Texas to the Union of Lee Miller and Clarkey Hutchins. He was retired from the United States Army after serving 30 years. He received the Good Conduct Medal Clasp, Silver, 1 Loop; Army Commendation Medal; Vietnam Service Medal w/ 2 Bronze Service Stars; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; Bronze Star Medal w/5 Oak Leaf Cluster; Combat Infantry Badge 3d award. He served in World War II, Two tours in Korea and was in Vietnam 1968 - 1969. Loving Family Wife, Frieda Miller of Copperas Cove, Texas Son, Michael Miller and wife Ginger of Navarre, Florida Son, Timothy Miller of Dallas, Texas One Grandson, Jason Miller of Navarre, Fla. Two Great-Grandsons, Zachery Miller and Nicholas Miller both of Navarre, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, One Sister, Ruby Miller and Two Brothers, Lee Miller and James Miller.
