John B. Patton, a gentle soul whose kindness touched all who knew him, passed away on March 17, 2026, in Killeen, Texas, due to complications of diabetes. Born on August 26, 1971, in Upland, California, John lived a life marked by quiet strength, unwavering love, and a uniquely tender heart.
John's journey was one enriched by both his professional dedication and personal passions. For 21 years, he devoted himself as an Assistant Property Manager at Town Square Property Management, and he also contributed in logistics and delivery for Texas Copy. His mind was sharp and quick-witted, a quality that only those closest to him were privileged to witness through his dry, protective sense of humor—a humor that, once coaxed to the surface by those who loved him, was a special gift cherished deeply.
Educated at Eastern New Mexico State University, John earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, a field fitting for someone so attuned to the subtle nuances of kindness and empathy. Beyond his career and studies, John’s world was filled with simple joys and beloved interests. A passionate collector, he delighted in gathering Pokémon cards and Star Wars memorabilia, treasures that offered a glimpse into his youthful spirit and joy for life's cherished stories.
Cats held a particularly dear place in John's heart, perhaps sensing the gentleness within him. Known affectionately as “Bug” during his younger days—so named for his tender habit of carefully relocating rollie-pollie bugs to safety—John exemplified compassion in the smallest of actions. He would never hurt even the tiniest creature, a testament to his deep respect for all life.
Among the memories held close by those who loved him is an unforgettable night at Gruene Hall, where John braved the rain to enjoy a Loretta Lynn concert—moments like these reflecting his warmth and zest for life, despite the quiet demeanor he often wore.
John is survived by his mother, Susan; sister, Robin; cousins Kathleen and her husband Willie, Christopher, Valerie, Martin, Theresa, Darrel and his wife Julie, Zach, Dillan, Roger and Frannie Ward of Kentucky; his Aunt Cyndi; and many other family members and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. He was preceded in death by his Uncle Ray and cousin Debra, whose memories live on alongside his.
Visitation to celebrate John's life will be held on March 28, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Copperas Cove Location, 1614 S FM 116, Copperas Cove, Texas. Those gathered to remember him will share stories, smiles, and perhaps, a quiet nod to the humor that was his signature.
John B. Patton’s life was a gentle melody—a blend of kindness, intelligence, and heartfelt laughter. Though he has departed from this world, the echoes of his gentle spirit, protective love, and humorous soul will continue to resonate deeply, reminding us all of the beauty found in compassion and quiet strength. He will be profoundly missed, yet forever cherished.
