Joyce Sampson, a radiant spirit whose laughter could light up any room, was born on June 11, 1981, in Sullivan, Missouri. She left this world far too soon on May 30, 2025, in Temple, Texas, after valiantly battling cancer. Joyce's life, filled with joy and compassion, left an indelible mark on all who had the honor of knowing her.
From her early years, it was clear that Joyce was destined for a life of giving. She pursued her passion for education and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from the University of Phoenix in 2010. However, her heart called her toward teaching, leading her to work at GC Services before finding her true calling as a Special Education Instructional Aide at Copperas Cove Junior High. In this role, she flourished, nurturing and encouraging her students, particularly the Life Skills children, whom she adored beyond measure. Joyce took immense pride in her work and every single child that walked into her classroom felt her warmth and commitment to their growth.
Joyce's personality was a tapestry of humor, kindness, and an unwavering spirit. Her wonderfully generous heart always made her available for those in need, and many will remember her not just for her laughter but for the genuine care she showed to everyone around her. A true friend, Joyce brightened lives with her sense of humor and love for others.
Among her many interests, Joyce had a profound admiration for white tigers, sharks and orcas, animals that represented the beauty of nature she cherished deeply. The ocean held a special place in her heart, as did the thrill of watching storms roll in while she sat quietly outside. Her love for anything Mickey Mouse or Disney inspired the playful spirit in her life, reminding everyone of the magic that can be found in simple joys.
Joyce leaves behind her loving family: Daniel Sampson (Father), Dianna Missey (Mother), Laura Missey (Sister), Kristy Tuley (Sister), and her cherished child, Denae "Noel" Tuley and their childhood friend Aurora Maxwell. She will be reunited in spirit with her Uncle, Kenny Cox, who preceded her in death. Additionally, her fur-baby, Ivory Sampson, along with grand fur-babies Batman and Dakota Tuley, will miss her dearly. Joyce is also survived by Denae’s father, Jerry Tuley, along with many cherished friends and family members
Joyce’s legacy of love, laughter, and dedication to her students will remain alive in the hearts of many. Her memorial service will be held on June 6, 2025, at Sneed-Carnley Funeral home in Copperas Cove, Texas. As we gather to honor her life, we are reminded of the beautiful soul she was and the lasting impact she had on all of us. Rest in peace, dear Joyce. You will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
