Kathryn Elizabeth Lewis

Kathryn “Kathy” Elizabeth Lewis (née Varnado) passed away on July 31, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on September 19, 1956, Kathy was the oldest of four children to Jessie James and Anna Marie (née Schmid) Varnado. Kathy resided in Kempner, Texas with her husband of 54 years, Robert “Bob” Lewis. Together, Kathy and Bob raised three children while owning and operating Airmax-Aircare, a local heating and air conditioning company, for over 45 years.

Kathy is proceeded in death by her parents, Jessie and Anna Marie; sister, Angel Lay; niece, Christina Langfelder; and great grand-dog, Nova White.

Kathy is survived by husband, Bob; children, Robert “Bradley” Lewis and wife Jennifer, Tina White, and Dana Lewis; brothers, James Varnado and wife Dawn and John Varnado and wife Leona; grandchildren, Jazzlyne Jenkins, Georgia White, and Jaxon Jenkins; great- grandson, Dexter Jenkins; and several nieces and nephews.

Kathy will be remembered as the matriarch of her family, always throwing lavish holiday parties and family vacations. A woman who loved shopping, bingo, and desserts. For most of Kathy’s life, she could be found standing in her kitchen, Airmax phone in hand, relentlessly working to spoil her family. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and Nana who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
