Kristopher Rhyan Chism, born on August 5, 1991, in Fort Hood, Texas, left our world on December 6, 2025, in Copperas Cove, Texas. Kris was a beacon of light, known for his kindness, silliness, and unyielding loyalty to those he loved.
Kris’ heart was particularly vibrant when it came to his daughter, Kennedy (Shandi) – the light of his life and his proudest accomplishment. He often laughed about her strong personality often pointing the finger at his momma or her momma, funny enough those traits of laughter and sarcasm came straight from him and will continue to live though her.
The love Kris shared extended beyond just fatherhood; he was guided by a deep affection for animals, which reciprocated his gentle spirit. Animals seemed to recognize the kindness in him, as they gravitated towards his warmth and care. He had an innate ability to connect with all creatures, big and small, enchanting those who knew him.
Kris was fiercely loved and cherished by his mother, Dawn, his Aunt Debbie and Gramma Sharon who all held a special place in his heart. The loss such as this is nothing we should go through, yet here we are being faced with that reality that a moment in time changes the trajectory of all who love you. Kris also cherished the wisdom of his Great Uncle Rex.
In addition to the love of immediate family, Kris had many close friends who, like the family he adored, were blessed to witness his unique charm and caring nature. Among these individuals was Billy James, who held a dear place in Kris’ life, loving and cherishing him as a son from infancy into adulthood.
The familial love was further enriched by the presence of his sisters Samantha, Teresa and Christine. He also leaves behind paternal grandparents, Bob and Teresa Nesbitt.
While Kris faced challenges that made life difficult at times, he maintained a beautiful glimmer within him—a treasure that did not go unnoticed. His loving spirit was a source of comfort, reminding those around him of the importance of loyalty, laughter, and love.
Although Kris is preceded in death by his grandfather Stan, his father Chris, and beloved great grandparents Lou and CJ Ivy, as well as Sharon and Loren Fields, he leaves behind an enduring legacy of love that will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.
As we remember Kris Rhyan Chism, let us celebrate the joy he brought into our lives and carry forward the lessons of kindness and loyalty he imparted during his time with us. May he rest in eternal peace, a loving father, son, brother, and friend, forever cherished in our memories. And may his loss somehow find meaning to others when struggling to seek help. For now his soul is at rest and he will be our favorite star in the sky. I love you more than cheesecake.
