Larry John White, age 76, of Kempner, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2020. A celebration of his life will be scheduled at a later date.
Larry was born on December 28, 1943 in Rolla, ND to the late Russell Edward and Alice Pawich White. He graduated from Crawford High School in San Diego, CA in 1962. Larry joined the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict and was stationed in Hawaii. Larry worked for Pacifica Bell in San Diego for 30 years. He was proud to have been a part of installing the 911 system in southern California. He married Nancy Gram on March 1, 1978. In 1992, they moved to Kempner to be closer to family. Larry started a home maintenance and locksmith business and had a successful business for over 10 years. He was also a self-taught gunsmith but his true love was working with metal. He was the president of the Copperas Cove Pistol Club numerous times and loved competitive shooting.
Larry was preceded death by his parents; and one son, Rusty White.
Larry is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nancy White; brothers, Rick White of El Cajon, CA, Brian White Mantoba, Canada; step-sister, Debbie Katan and husband, Mark of Temeckia, CA; step-sons, Mark Robert and wife, Susan of Harker Heights, Chris Robert of Ramona, CA; three grandchildren, Aspen Robert, Cole Robert and Jessie Robert and numerous nieces and nephews.
