LaVerna Gale Riley

LaVerna Gail Riley, 71, passed away on July 14, 2023, at Lily Springs in Lampasas, Texas.  She was born on May 30, 1952, in San Diego, California to Ruth Iola Easley.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

LaVerna grew up in San Diego, California and graduated from Hoover High School in San Diego in 1970.  After high school, she moved to Texas where she held many jobs over the years.  Jobs including, Walgreens store clerk, waitress, bartender, gas station clerk, elemenary lunch lady, elementary teachers aide, cook, pastry chef, receptionist, book keeper, paralegal, and many more.  LaVerna attended Central Texas College where she received a degree in criminal justice.  She was involved in the PTA, Cub Scouts of America, Boy Scouts of America, and volunteered for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.  She married Charles Riley in 1983 and they divorced in 2001.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ector Ray Easley (1988) and Ruth Iola Easley (1996), her sister-in-law, Martha Easley and various aunts, uncles, and cousins.

LaVerna is survived by her son, Charles Michael Riley II (Andrea) of Killeen, TX; her daughter, Deana Ruth Riley of Copperas Cove, TX; her brother, Milton "Dale" Easley of Highland, California; her sister, Linda Adriance (Michael) of Murrieta, California; her cousins, Thelma Hicks and Mary Baer of California; her grandchildren, Haleigh Riley (17), Charles Riley III (12), Anthony Riley (10) all of Killeen, Texas; her nephews, Ian Adriance and Joshua Adriance, and many other honorary children and grandchildren she loved over the years.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you plant a rose bush in her honor.
