Lillie M. Finnell

Lillie M. Finnell, 75, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at her home in Killeen, TX.

Services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 2 pm with a visitation an hour prior.  Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas. 

Lillie was born May 9, 1947, in Jonesboro, Louisiana to John and Ada Mae Williams.  She was a Licensed Vocational Nurse for many years caring for those in need thru holistic medicine.  She also served her community as a real estate agent, a Girl Scout Leader, Civic Club President and Sunday School Teacher.  She enjoyed gardening, sewing, painting, cooking, bible study and crafts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Ada Cheecks (Harris); her siblings, Prentis Haynes, Jr., Dewey Haynes, Richard Haynes, John Haynes, Frank Haynes, Linda Faye Smith and her son, Edward Dewayne Finnell.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Veda Lewis, Kimberly and Gerald DeFreitas, Shanna Finnell, Kelvin Finnell, Delvin Finnell; grandchildren, Ashley Blackburn, Keyon Lewis and Theodora Prior, Katerra and Reginald Guidry, Chavon DeFreitas and Devron Hattix-Covington, Jemel DeFreitas and Melissa Edens, Janika and Anthony Andrew, DeAndre Finnell, Logan Finnell, and Lauren Finnell; great-grandchildren, Johnathan Kirkendoll, Jevon Kirkendoll, Jaden Kirkendoll, Royce Johnson, Royal Johnson, Carter Johnson, Penelope Andrew, and Reginald Guidry III.  

Pallbearers will be Kelvin Finnell, Delvin Finnell, Keyon Lewis, Jemel DeFreitas, Reginald Guidry II, Devron Hattix-Covington, and BJ Burton. Honorary Pallbearers will be DeAndre Finnell, Anthony Andrew, Johnathan Kirkendoll, Jevon Kirkendoll, Jaiden Kirkendoll, Reginald Guidry III.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to everyone who has called, texted, sent cards, prayed, and offered words of condolence during this difficult time.  Special thanks to Dominion Church and Hicks Chapel for their kindness.
