Lupe C. "Papaw" Dimas, 96, of Lampasas, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023, at his home in Lampasas.

A Rosary will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel Lampasas on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at 6 p.m. with visitation to follow.  The Funeral Mass will be on Friday, November 3, 2023, at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 2 p.m. with interment to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Lupe was a beloved member of the Lampasas Community and could be found along the fence line at every Lampasas Badger football game.  He and his family settled in Lampasas when he was nine years old, and he has called it home since.  He met the love of his life, Sally, in Lampasas and raised his family here, many of whom still called Lampasas home.  Lupe also faithfully served his country in the US Army during WWII and then retired with the Army National Guard.

Mr. Dimas loved garage sales, was an avid runner, and participated in many of the Toughest 10k in Texas during Spring Ho, he was devoted to his faith and was a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church.  Above all, he was devoted to God, his family, and his community.  Most of his career was spent as a mechanic but he was also known to sheer many sheep and brought most of his family members along.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Ed Dimas, a brother, Julian Dimas and a great-child, Coben.

Survivors include his wife of 74 years, Sally Dimas; his son, Frankie Dimas, and wife Dana; daughters, Cecelia Jimenez and husband Monroe, Patty Rios and husband Rey, and Diane Hibbert; his daughter-in-law, Teresa Dimas; his grandchildren, Julie, Jana, Kurt, Edika, Mystica, Patch, Spinner, Kristen, Bailey, Kamryn, Graham, and Joe Rey; his great-grandchildren, Cody, Johnnie, Cade, Caleb, Chloe, Phillip, Ashley, Bianca, Tagg, Layne, Krew, Will, Finnegan, Rylee, Elijah, Marley, and Brady and one great-great-grandchild, Casen.

Mr. Dimas was a well-known community member, a prominent figure in his church, and the Badgers' #1 fan. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and the Lampasas community.
