Marcia Ann Carnley

May 7, 1938 — May 20, 2021

Marcia Ann Carnley, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, May 20, 2021.

Public visitation will be May 28 from 6-8 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel.  Funeral and interment services will be private for family only.

Marcia was born May 7, 1938, in Preston, Minnesota, to Bernard and Hilda Olson Johnson.  She married Thomas C. Carnley in 1956.  She spent much of her life traveling with her family to various military installations where her husband was stationed.  Marcia was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who loved her family dearly.  Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her world.  She had a great sense of humor and could make anyone laugh.  Marcia never met a stranger and would talk to anyone who would listen.  She was a faithful member of Faith Lutheran Church since arriving in the Lampasas community in 1978 following her husband's retirement from the Air Force.

Marcia enjoyed going on drives, traveling, going on cruises, reading, playing bingo and attending her grandchildrens' sporting events.  Before retiring Marcia was a receptionist for many years at Family Medicine Clinic.

She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband in 2008; by a sister, Janie Nettle; by a brother, Howard Johnson; and a grandson, Keaton Carnley.

Survivors include her sons and their wives, Thomas and Jamie Carnley, and Max and Kathleen Carnley of Lampasas, and Michael and Angela Carnley of Round Rock; a daughter and her husband, Tammy and James Carpenter of Kempner; a brother and his wife, Gary and Linda Johnson; a sister, Sandra Wratchford; daughter-in-law, Lisa Carnley of Lampasas; grandchildren, Dustin, Summer, Jason, Jennie, Zach, Marcia, Ashli, Lauren, Antonia, Christopher, Cody, Dustin, Katrina, Derek, Amanda and Stephanie; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many other loving family members.
