Marcia Percell

Dec 15, 1941 — Jun 16, 2026

Marcia Ann Percell, a devoted educator, loving mother, and cherished soul, passed away on June 16, 2026, in Lampasas, Texas. Born on December 15, 1941, in Noblesville, Indiana, Marcia was the daughter of Howard and Leona Myers, whose roots in farming instilled in her the values of hard work and perseverance.

A lifelong learner who believed deeply in the power of education, Marcia earned her Master's degree in Education from Ball State University and went on to devote much of her life to teaching and inspiring others.

Marcia lovingly raised her three children—Jeff, Keri, and Melissa (Missy)—who remained the center of her world and a constant source of pride and joy throughout her life. In 1977, she and her family began a new chapter when they moved to Denver, Colorado.

Marcia's career eventually brought her to Martin Marietta, where she met the love of her life, Bevan Percell. The two married in 1986 and built a life together marked by friendship, laughter, and unwavering support. Over the years, they shared many adventures, including a move to the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas, where Marcia returned to a profession she deeply loved—teaching. Helping students learn and grow brought her great joy and purpose.

After retiring in 2010, Marcia embraced a quieter chapter of life, surrounded by family, friends, and the beauty of the Texas Hill Country. Following Bevan's passing in 2016, she carried on with the same strength and grace that had defined her life. She spent her later years in Lampasas, close to those she loved most.

Preceding Marcia in death were her husband Bevan, daughter Keri, her parents Howard and Leona, and her brother Gary.

Marcia is survived by her son, Jeff Wenger, and his wife, Julene; her daughter, Melissa deGraffenried, and her husband, Finley; her grandchildren, Conner, Seamus, Elizabeth, and Caleb; her stepdaughters, Jodi Wuesthoff and Kris Harwood; and her sister-in-law, Janice Myers, and her family.

In her final days, Marcia was tenderly cared for by the compassionate staff at Lampasas Assisted Living and Magnolia Hospice.
