Michael (Mike) James Holland

Michael James Holland, 78, passed away peacefully at his home in Lometa, TX on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. He was born on October 1, 1946 in Dallas, TX to Billy James Holland and Sarah Catheryn Keith. He was a dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Michael spent almost his entire life in the Dallas area. He went to South Oak Cliff High School and then to Northwestern University in Wichita Falls, TX where he played basketball. Michael moved to Lampasas County in 2010 and in 2016 he married Charlotte Thompson.

Mike had several careers. He became a Dallas Policeman in 1970, later he worked for Sonitrol in the home and commercial security business. But probably his favorite job was when he established "Contact Investigation" where he was a private investigator with five employees working with several attorneys and police in Dallas as well as individuals.

Mike never met a stranger. He loved playing golf and could be spotted on the golf course in almost any weather. He was a huge Cowboys fan and enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers and the Houston Astros. He was a faithful member of New Covenant Church in Lampasas.

Michael was proceeded in death by his parents, his brother Brian Holland, his daughter Jackie Holland, a granddaughter Paige Patterson and a grandson Donovan Bradford.

Michael is survived by his spouse Charlotte of Lometa, TX, their children Debbie Holland Maulding of Colorado Springs, CO, Dawn (David) Neilon of Fredericksburg, TX and Benjamin Jones of Kempner, TX, seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 1:30 pm at New Covenant Church on Highway 190 in Lampasas.
