Randy Joseph (RJ) Patterson Jr., born on May 11, 1989, in Erie, Pennsylvania, passed away on May 3, 2026, in Temple, Texas. He was a man whose heart was as expansive as his spirit was radiant, a soul that carried both a gentle kindness and an unmistakable lightness that could lift the spirits of those around him—even through his famously goofy nature.
RJ was a unique and deeply loving individual. Behind his playful humor was a light in his eye, a brightness many were fortunate to witness. He cherished his family profoundly, clinging to a softer side that he playfully masked with tough affection. His love extended beyond human connections; he found great joy and purpose working on bikes, a passion that defined many happy moments in his life.
Although RJ faced struggles in finding true peace, his journey has now reached a serene resting place alongside his dear mother, Angie, and his adopted father, Allen Yanta. The peace he long sought is his at last, embraced by the love and grace of our Lord.
RJ leaves behind a loving family that carries his spirit forward: his sister Dianna Patterson and her husband Robert, along with their children Aliyah and Robert Jr.; his brother Casey Patterson; and his father, Randy Joseph Patterson Sr. He was a LOVING father to his oldest son Charlie, younger son Casen, and cherished daughter Scarlet. He was also deeply loved by his adopted mother, Mary Jane Yanta, and her daughters Allison, Marybeth, and Jessica Yanta.
A memorial service to honor RJ’s life will be held on May 9, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Copperas Cove Location, 1614 S FM 116, Copperas Cove, Texas 76522. It will be a time to remember the remarkable light RJ brought into the world—the laughter, love, and compassion he so freely gave.
Though RJ’s journey on earth has ended, his warm presence and indomitable spirit remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. We will hold his memory close, forever grateful for the generous soul who refused to hide his true heart, even if only on rare, precious occasions. Rest in peace, dear Randy Joseph Patterson Jr., your light shines on.
