Rebekah Denison Hart

July 27, 1942 — December 28, 2020

Devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Rebekah Denison Hart, 78, passed away on December 28, 2020, due to complications of Covid-19.

Rebekah was born July 27, 1942, in El Paso, Texas to Carolyn and Raleigh Denison.  When Rebekah was at an early age, her mother made Lampasas home.  Although Rebekah would leave Lampasas for college and later settle in Austin with her children, she always found her way back home.  Rebekah, known as Becky by most, loved to care for people and entertained in her home throughout her life.  She loved cooking for a crowd and thrived during the holiday season.  Her passion for caring for others is a trait that her children and grandchildren continue to share.

For many years Rebekah was best known for her passion for advocating for her special needs son and others who needed someone to help them have a voice.  She was a loving and positive influence on many children in her home, at church, in schools, and in various other volunteer opportunities.  Rebekah was also always involved in her church.  She shared her love for God and loved fellowship with other believers.  The Episcopal Church always held a special place in her heart and she was thrilled to be a part of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in recent years.  She cherished the sacrament of communion and sharing it with dear friends.

Rebekah leaves behind a legacy of love and an open door with a seat at the table.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence; brothers, Raleigh and Mary Bert, Early and wife, Noel; children and step-children, Bryan and Janet, Elizabeth, Tyler, Brian, Lisa; grandchildren, Gabby, Garret, Winnie, Bryan, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and her many friends that will miss and think of her often.

Due to ongoing concerns with Covid-19, a celebration of life and burial of her ashes will be scheduled at a later date on or around the anniversary of her passing in 2021 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas, TX.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 501 S. Chestnut St., Lampasas, TX, 76550
