Robert Wellman Howard

Robert Wellman Howard, 72, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Advent Health Central Texas in Killeen.  Robert was born on March 4, 1950, in Sulphur Springs, TX to Wanda Ruth Otts.

Funeral services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at 2 pm with a visitation an hour prior.

For most of his career, Robert was a painter at Paint Masters.  Robert married Jo Ann in Santa Ana, CA and they were happily married for many years.

For the past two and a half years Howard has been enjoying life in Lampasas, TX.  He was a resident of Cedar Hill Nursing and Rehab (Caraday) then moved over to Lily Springs Rehabilitation to be with his Angel.  He was always the life of the party and could out whistle everyone!  Howard was voted Valentine's King two years in a row and loved to yell Bingo as he walked through a game to go outside for his cigarette or to sweep the patio.  Robert Howard had soft spot for puppies and loved McDonald's fries, Dr. Pepper, and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.  His over-the-top personality that made everyone laugh will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Ruth Otts; twin brother, Ronald Howard and his other brother, Darrel Howard.

He is survived by his spouse, Jo Ann of Santa Ana, CA; daughters, Carol Jarvis of Lancaster, CA, Jennifer Howard Merchant (Dwayne) of Stanton, CA; son, Ted Lawrence Howard (Melissa) of Costa Mesa, CA; grandchildren, Nichole, Kurstin, Lil Billy, Dylan, Serina, Ian, Freyja; great-grandchildren, Khloe, Rylan, Samantha, Caelyn, Grace; and his adopted family by heart and special friends, Angel Norton and her children (Anaya, Cameron, Darrian), Kim Noel, Kayla Castruita, Rachel Gray, Jolene Osborne, Amanda Whitehill, Amy Stremming, Gary Ranck, Richard Rojas, Bob Davis, Donna Foster, Caroline Martinez, Maria Villanueva, Yvonne Chaney, and Yong Bowden.

In lieu of flowers, his loved ones request memorial donations be made to the Lampasas Animal Shelter.
