A celebration of life for Robert J. Siekierke, 66, of Copperas Cove, will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, January 28, 2022, at Viss Family Funeral Home, 1614 S. FM 116 in Copperas Cove. Interment will be held at a later date.
Mr. Siekierke died on Jan. 18, 2022, at a local hospital from complications following emergency surgery.
He was born on July 16, 1955, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, to Velma (Dahse) and Marvin Siekierke.
He spent his childhood in Oshkosh, then as a teenager, he moved with his family to Phoenix, Arizona. Bob graduated in 1974 from East High School in Phoenix. He was employed by the Motorola Corporation for 15 years. He also worked in the transportation department of the Scottsdale Unified School District prior to moving to Texas.
When his life came to a crossroads, he located his former high school sweetheart and moved to Copperas Cove. He wed Roberta M. (Kurowski-Easler) on June 30, 2007.
Life situations had caused them to go on different paths after school, but some three decades later they reunited and spent 14 happily married years together. Bob said that if there is such a thing as soulmates, he and Bobbi fit that description. Not a day went by that he didn’t tell his wife how much he loved her.
During his free time, he enjoyed family getaways to a variety of locations. When his health allowed it, he happily volunteered at his church. As a youth, he worked on cars, and more recently his interest in cars turned to learning more about restored modified or “retromod” versions of the vehicles he drove as a teenager.
Mr. Siekierke was preceded in death by his parents and younger sister, Margaret Siekierke.
Survivors include his wife, Roberta Siekierke; stepdaughter, Katy Easler both of Copperas Cove; sisters, Nancy Babcock, and Dorothy (Robert) Dias both of Arizona; two nieces; two nephews, and his extended family in Wisconsin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the building fund of the First Baptist Church of Copperas Cove.
