Rocky’s life was rooted in Texas, from his birth in Angleton to the communities and family ties that remained dear to him throughout his years.

Rocky Ford Scott, of Killeen, Texas, passed away on September 10, 2026, in Killeen. He was born on March 6, 1952, in Angleton, Texas.

Rocky’s life was rooted in Texas, from his birth in Angleton to the communities and family ties that remained dear to him throughout his years. He attended Brazosport High School, afterward proudly serving in the United States Army. Later still Rocky earned an associate’s degree in Computer Design from Central Texas College, an accomplishment that reflected his commitment to learning and personal growth.

He will be remembered with deep love by his wife, Stacey Scott. He is also survived by his sister Becky Ateniese and her husband, Gary Ateniese, of Freeport, Texas; his sister LeeAnn Hurst and her husband, Paul Hurst, of Tomball, Texas; and his brother-in-law, Maurice Tracy, of Richwood, Texas. Rocky’s memory will also be cherished by his children: Tony Atchison of Round Rock, Texas; Timothy Atchison of Georgetown, Texas; Tiffany Atchison of Killeen, Texas; and Karrie McGarey and Bradly Scott, both of Copperas Cove, Texas. In addition, he leaves behind his brothers and sisters in Christ, as well as many past and present friends whose lives were touched by his presence.

He was preceded in death by his father, Virgel Scott; his mother, Lessie Scott; his son, Stephen Scott; and his sisters, Brenda Piersall and Marilyn Tracy. Their memory remained a part of his life, and he now rests with those who went before him.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on September 24, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Copperas Cove Location, 1614 S FM 116, Copperas Cove, Texas 76522. A funeral service will follow there from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Graveside services will take place later that day from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 TX-195, Killeen, Texas 76542.

Rocky Ford Scott will be remembered for the life he lived, the family he loved, and the lasting place he holds in the hearts of those who knew him. May his memory bring comfort and peace to all who mourn his passing.
