Born to William & Antonette Bothof in Slayton, MN, Roger was raised in a Christian home and actively served in the churches they attended. Roger's school years were lived in Southern California and he graduated Artesia High school 1964.

In 1966, at 18 yrs old, Roger was drafted into the U.S. Marine Corp and he served in Vietnam.

Roger was married and divorced from his first wife which resulted in the birth of his son, Bradley. Brad was Roger's pride and joy!

Roger worked at General Telephone in California. Roger moved to Southern Idaho to be closer to family and married Jeanine and added her two daughters, Julie & Jill to the family. Roger purchased his own dairy and shortly after his son Jeffery was born. Loving children, Roger & Jeanine adopted two more children, Jessica & Zachary—completing their family of eight!

In 1988 Roger began working for Operations Management International in Twin Falls. As he advanced in his career he transferred to several plants across U.S., eventually settling in south Texas. During this time Roger was active in city government and was also a licensed Realtor. Eventually Roger moved to Lampasas Texas where he transitioned into retirement. After retirement Roger & Jeanine enjoyed and excelled at refurbishing homes, and they both were very talented in their efforts. Additionally Roger and Jeanine volunteered for the local dog rescue, transporting stray animals to facilities that could then give them to families with loving homes.

Over their married lifetime, Roger and Jeanine enjoyed traveling. Highlights of their travels include the Middle East, South America, and Europe. Roger and Jeanine were fond of traveling in their RV. They traveled extensively throughout the United States. They were also avid cruisers reaching platinum status and traveling to the Caribbean more times than can be counted, but also visiting unique locations such as Alaska and Hawaii. Their favorite port of call was Passion Island in Cozumel.

About 5 years ago Roger was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia. Roger eventually moved to Assisted Living, where his wife Jeanine visited him three times a day, everyday, for 3½ yrs. Roger looked forward to her coming each and every day. During this time Roger leaned on his faith and relied on Jeanine's dedication looking forward to that day when he left his earthly body for a heavenly one—to sit at Jesus' feet.

He finally made his final move to Heaven on June 17, 2026.

"Praise The Lord!" "GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!"

Roger is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanine Bothof and his children; Bradley (Stefani), Jeffery (Catherine), Julie (Johnny), Jill (Marty), Jessica Ames, and Zachery Bothof; as well as numerous grandchildren, extended family members, and friends. He is also survived by his siblings Gary and Gert Bothof, Don and Carla Bonnes, Marsha Ann Bothof, Donley and Valorie Bothof, Leann and Jim Caughey, and Alisa and Kurt Cantrell.

Roger treasured his many friendships throughout life. One especially meaningful friendship was with Jeff Paullus, who served alongside him in Vietnam and remained a loyal friend until the end. Additionally He had three bonus daughters Sandra Van Court, Saundra Garcia, and Stacy Brack.

Roger's legacy is one of faith, family, service, generosity, and love, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
