Ronnie Claude Brown

August 19, 1960 — January 9, 2021

Ronnie Claude Brown, 60, passed away at his home in Naruna, TX on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021.

He was born on August 19, 1960 in Burnet, TX to W.C. (Dub) Brown Jr. and Janie (Morrison) Brown.  Ronnie grew up on the family ranch in Naruna, TX, where he later returned to raise his family.  As a child, he spent his days ranching, riding, and harassing the dogs.  He loved life in the country and cowboying with his father.  Born the third of the four Brown children, Ronnie quickly developed a reputation as an adorable, funny, and mischievous child.  His siblings lovingly referred to life as "the Ronnie show" as he was often the center of laughter and energy in their lives.

Ronnie graduated from Lampasas High School in 1978.  After high school, he attended TSTI in Waco, TX with his brother, Terry, where they studied Livestock Management.  In 1985, he married the love of his life, Regina Harris.  They soon had their hands full with their three sons, Rowdy, Ryder, and Roper.  Ronnie truly loved being a father and a husband, and he gave all of his love and energy to his family.  He was deeply proud of his boys and the men they grew up to be.  He taught them everything he knew and was their best friend as they grew up.  He and Regina shared 35 wonderful years together.

Always a hard worker, Ronnie was a rancher for most of his life along with being an electrician, working at the auction sale barn, and "cowboying" on other local ranches alongside many of the same boys he grew up with.  In 1993, he realized a longtime dream of owning his own barbecue establishment with lifelong friend, Danny Vann.  After closing the restaurant, he continued to cook for friends and family, including his well-known barbecue ribs and fried fish.  Several years ago, he opened a cedar-clearing business for local ranches with his sons.  Ronnie would do anything to help a neighbor or a friend and never knew an enemy.  He is remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and abiding love for his family and friends.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, W.C. (Dub) Brown, Jr.

Ronnie is survived by his loving wife, Regina Brown of Naruna, TX; sons, Rowdy Brown of Lampasas, TX; Ryder Brown (Kristin) of Marion, TX, and Roper Brown of Lampasas, TX; mother Janie Brown Perkins of Lampasas, TX; siblings, Kathy Smart (Terry) of Lampasas, TX, Terry Brown (Becky) of Trent, TX, and Lisa Clay (Kelly) of Chandler, TX.  Ronnie was overjoyed to become a grandfather when his eldest son Rowdy welcomed his first daughter, Emeri in 2009.  She was quickly followed by Brynlee, Stella, and Rebel Dub.  The four grandchildren were a source of great joy for Ronnie and Regina, and he dearly loved being their "Pa".  He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, as well as a host of close friends and family.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, a memorial service is not scheduled.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Lampasas County Youth Livestock Association P.O. Box 504, Lampasas, TX, 76550.  Condolences may be left on www.sneedfuneralchapel.com online guest book.

The Brown family wishes to extend their gratitude to the friends, neighbors, and family who have checked in on them, prayed, provided support and brought them meals.
